Start Reggae 6 with Golden Ambassador

CAUGHT at the wire by I LOVE BIRDIE when stealing home as the 4-5 favourite on his second outing, GOLDEN AMBASSADOR opens Sunday’s Reggae 6 going seven furlongs, a half-furlong shorter, against less-fiercer rivals.

Outsped by EYE OF THE TIGER on his May 23 debut, GOLDEN AMBASSADOR returned treated with lasix and figure-8 fitted two Saturdays ago but was cut down by I LOVE BIRDIE, who goes to post in Sunday’s St Leger as a classic hopeful.

Having shown good speed at exercise, 1:14.3 and 1:15.0 in six-furlong spins, GOLDEN AMBASSADOR is a firm Reggae 6 banker to get the day rolling and a shot at the $3m minimum-guarantee payout.

DELTA GAMMA, CRYPTOGIRL and GULFSTREAM CAT at 7-1, first-choice selections in last Friday’s STAR Sports’ ‘Reggae 6 Snaps’, made up half of the winners in Sunday’s $280,061 mandatory payout.
