National senior women's team football coach Vin Blaine says the players will need to exercise more patience when they travel to the Cayman Islands for their penultimate Group C Concacaf Women's Championship qualifying match on Saturday.

In their previous game against Grenada, which the Girlz won 6-1, Blaine said they were too eager to score and that disrupted their chemistry and decision making. However, he believes that with much more time to prepare the girls for that match, he expects to get the win needed to boost the team going into the final game against group leaders Dominica Republic on Tuesday.

"On Friday we will know the result between Bermuda and Dominican Republic so we will know exactly what we need to do when we play Cayman. Against Grenada we were too anxious to score and that affected us. This time we are prepared to keep possession and let the goals come and we know that if we play up to our potential we can beat any team in the region," he said.

He is also grateful for the time available to get his tactics across to the team, and believes the few days he has with the girls will be very useful.

"We will have four good days of training prior before we leave for Cayman and that will definitely help us. We had two sessions today (Tuesday) and we will have two tomorrow, one on Thursday before we leave and another one in the Cayman Islands. The last two games maybe we had one hour with them. So we should be better."

Jamaica and Dominica Republic share the lead atop of the group with maximum six points. However, the Dominican Republic hold a plus three goal difference and Blaine said they want to use the game against the Cayman Islands to set the stage for their final group match.

"Any game you play you have to be concerned. You can have confidence, and we do have the confidence, but you have to take them (opponents) into consideration. They (Dominican Republic) are the team that is on the same level as us and we have them in the last game. But we believe we can win and we will use the Cayman game to be prepared for them. I have scouted both teams a bit and I have seen their strength and weaknesses. But football is played on the day, as the other team is preparing for you. So you have to have a plan B if that happens. But we are definitely going to the Cayman Islands to win."
