A dispute that reportedly started behind a public bathroom in Port Antonio ended in bloodshed on Monday afternoon, leaving one man dead and a 15-year-old high school student in police custody.

Dead is Jeremy Ferguson, otherwise called 'Tarzan', a resident of Portland.

Police sources said the incident unfolded shortly after 4:00 p.m. in the vicinity of the sanitary convenience facility on Foreshore Road in Port Antonio.

Reports are that a group of boys had been gambling behind the facility when an argument broke out.

It is understood that three of the boys later left the area and returned with three adult men, including Ferguson.

According to investigators, the adults then became involved in a confrontation with a 15-year-old student of a prominent Portland high school.

During the altercation, the teenager allegedly used a knife to stab Ferguson.

The injured man was rushed to the Port Antonio Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The student was subsequently taken into police custody.

Detectives assigned to the Port Antonio Criminal Investigation Branch are probing the circumstances that led to the fatal stabbing.
