Cops get more time to hold Jahvy in Big Wall shooting investigation
The fallout from the explosive Big Wall shooting continues to deepen, with music producer and artiste manager Jahvel 'Jahvy' Morrison now being held longer in police custody as investigators tighten their grip on the high-profile case.
Morrison was back in court on Wednesday, where police successfully secured an order to extend his detention as they press ahead with their probe into the gunfire that shattered the Carnival after-party on Sunday.
The application was made in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, clearing the way for detectives to continue questioning the entertainment insider, who remains behind bars without charge.
Represented by King's Counsel Peter Champagnie, Morrison is expected to face further interrogation as investigators work to piece together the events that led to the shocking outbreak of violence at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
Under the law, police are permitted to hold a person for up to 48 hours without charge, but can apply to the court for more time, which is exactly what was done in this case.
Morrison was taken into custody on Sunday in connection with the shooting at the Big Wall event, which left three people injured, including popular vlogger Jhaedee 'Jaii Frais' Richards.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the entertainment scene, with multiple individuals now in custody and two firearms already seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
