Woman allegedly caught with cocaine hidden in easter buns granted $1m bail bail
A woman accused of trying to smuggle cocaine hidden inside Easter buns and slippers through Norman Manley International Airport has been granted $1,000,000 bail following a court appearance on Wednesday.
Kamarra Fraser-Munroe secured bail in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court after her attorney, Able-Don Foote, argued that she is not a flight risk despite being a foreign national.
Allegations are that on April 3, 2026, Fraser-Munroe was preparing to board a British Airways flight to London Gatwick when her luggage raised suspicion during a routine security scan.
Port security alerted the police, and a search was conducted with her consent.
During the search, Easter buns and slippers found in her luggage were reportedly opened in her presence, revealing approximately six pounds of cocaine concealed inside.
She was subsequently charged with possession of, dealing in, attempting to export, and conspiracy to export cocaine.
During the bail application, her attorney argued that she entered the country legally and had already handed over her British passport to the police on the day of the incident.
Parish Judge Alwayne Smith granted bail in keeping with the presumption of innocence and ordered Fraser-Munroe to report to the Hunts Bay police station twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
She is scheduled to return to court on July 13, 2026, for case management.
