Body of unidentified female found in canal in Spanish Town

The body of a female was removed from a canal along St Johns Road in Spanish Town on Wednesday morning.

The body, which was clad in blue jeans pants and a yellow top, is yet to be properly identified.

Reports are that the police were called to the scene about 8 a.m.

Personnel from the fire department later joined the police on the scene to help remove the body from the canal. 

The police are investigating.
