Gun seized, man killed in shootout with police

The Independent Commission of Investigations have launched a probe in the fatal shooting of a man by the police in St Catherine May 31,2016.
The incident has resulted in the seizure an M16 Rifle.

Reports are that about 1:30 p.m police personnel from the Linstead station went to Commodore District in search of wanted persons.
During which the police accosted armed persons.

A shootout ensued during which one of the men were shot and injured.
He was taken to hospital where he was admitted and subsequently died from injuries received.

His name has been withheld pending further investigations.
