My wife wants me to quit my job to give her better service

Dear Pastor

I am in my 40s. My wife is 12 years my junior. I drive a delivery truck. So there are times when I come home very tired. My wife is at home all day and she is well-rested. Most times she wants us to have sex, but it is not all the time I want to engage in sex. She constantly asks me whether I have another woman outside; I tell her no. She has even asked me why there was a time when I seemed suspicious of her, but the truth is, I’m often just exhausted, and sometimes I even fall asleep while she’s trying to get me in the mood.

I don’t have an outside woman. I just wish my wife would understand how I feel sometimes. Several times when I am sleeping my wife would play with my penis and climb on me, and there is nothing I can do but to try to satisfy her. My wife has gone so far to ask to me to consider giving up my job because the truck business is going to wreck our marriage. She says that I can do without that type of work. 

I really want to know what I should do.

I want you to understand that your job could have a serious effect on your love life. If you are on the job for many hours, by the time you get home, you might be suffering from stress. Every part of your body may feel tired. Of course, a good wife will help you to feel relaxed. She can prepare your bath, she can give you a massage and have you very quiet. She can also learn not to irritate you. 

There are men who have told me that they steal sex from their wives. In other words, while their women are asleep, they have sex with them. And sometimes the women wake up while the men are stealing sex. Some women admit that they don’t wake up until in the morning. Then they discover that their husbands had sex with them. 

In recent times, men have told me that while they are asleep, the women play with them and go on them and have sex. What I want you to know is that there are times that a woman would not be in the mood for sex. And there are times when a man will not be in the mood. However, a man ought to know what to do to get his wife in the mood, and his wife ought to know what to do to get her husband in the mood. 

Some men don’t know how to take no for an answer, and some women don’t know how to take no for an answer. But each should learn how to wait and let his or her partner rest before you engage in sex. That is why having sex in the morning hours can be very refreshing. Given your work as a truck driver, it might benefit you — morning sex before leaving for the road could be a good energy boost. Why not give it a try?
