Schoolgirl accused of robbing teen at knifepoint in bathroom

A dispute between students at a St Elizabeth high school has landed a 15-year-old girl before the courts after she was accused of assaulting a younger schoolmate in a bathroom and robbing her at knifepoint.

The teenager, a student of B.B. Coke High School in Junction, has been charged with robbery with aggravation and assault occasioning bodily harm.

According to police reports, the incident occurred about 11 a.m. on May 26 on the school compound.

Investigators say a 13-year-old female student was inside a bathroom when she was confronted by the accused and two other females whose faces were reportedly covered.

It is alleged that the 15-year-old slapped the younger student three times in the face before stomping her in the stomach, causing bruising, swelling and pain.

The situation reportedly escalated when the accused allegedly held a knife to the complainant's neck and robbed her of $450 cash.

The matter was later reported to the police, who launched an investigation.

Following inquiries, the teenager was formally charged.

Her court date is now being finalised.
