Having experienced the horror of her then five-week-old baby Nyyear Frank being abducted from her arms in October 2019, Aaliah Wray was moved to tears yesterday when she learned that another mother is enduring a similar ordeal.

"I know the pain that this mother is going to go through when she can't see or even sleep beside her baby. This little girl is 18 months which means that her mother has created a bond with her. My son was just five weeks when he was taken away from me and I felt like I was going crazy. I don't know why people have to be so cruel because I know this mother is feeling a pain like no other," Wray said.

Baby Nyyear was snatched from Wray's arms along Rousseau Road in St Andrew after she was dragged into a vehicle. Nyyear was recovered four months later by the police after Wray reportedly got an anonymous tip via social media that he was at a house in Waltham Park. Wray was reunited with her son this January.

A tearful Wray encouraged Akelia's mother to have faith and pray without ceasing.

"Fasting and praying really help and I would advise her to stay around people who will try to bring a smile to her face even though her baby will be at the forefront of her mind. If she really think about it too much it can make her mad. I remember when my son was abducted, I would often wonder if he was dead somewhere or if he was being fed or beaten. It's a really stressful situation," she said.
