St Jago gets $10 million to build science lab
The St Jago High School in St Catherine has benefited from $10 million courtesy of the Ministry of Education to build its science laboratory.
According to Principal Collette Feurtado-Pryce, the funding has come at an opportune time for the institution.
"We are very pleased that we will be now able to make the laboratory a reality, although we have a shortfall of $3 million," Feurtado-Pryce said.
The principal expressed confidence that the remaining funds will be raised through partnership with stakeholders.
Feurtado-Pryce was speaking
at a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting at the school on Thursday, September 29.
The StJago principal said that since the start of the year, the PTA has awarded grants amounting to $400,000 to a number of needy students.
"St Jago is doing well and the group is now looking to sponsor a needy student to attend school. This is wonderful news," Feurtado-Pryce said.
