Shokryme drops début album
Dancehall artiste Shokryme is in an upbeat mood as he celebrates the release of his debut album, Kill Some Cure Some.
"It gives me a wonderful feeling to know that I'm able to create such a great body of work so early in my career. This project is for all the true dancehall fans, and I am sure they will appreciate it. Years to come from now it will be revered as a classic dancehall album," said the deejay who is a former member of Aidonia's JOP crew.
Shokryme said the 15-track project, which was released on December 3, is a collaborative effort.
"I'm proud of this album because it is the culmination of all I've been through growing up in the ghetto and everything that I've experienced in the music industry. I spent a lot of time creating this project, but I couldn't do it alone. I must thank all the producers who worked with me in the studio tirelessly night after night to get every song right," said the artiste. He also revealed that he plans to be very visible on the local music scene in 2026.
"The year is ending, but the work has just begun. I'm going to be very active next year. In the coming months, the fans can expect a lot of hot new singles and videos from me. We're currently pushing a new single from the album titled Purpose. Management is also setting up a series of shows for the new year," said Shokryme.
