St Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) and Vauxhall High will meet in a decisive clash today in Group A quarter-final action of the ISSA/WATA Manning Cup football competition with a place in the semi-finals on the line.

STATHS and Vauxhall sit second and third, respectively, in the group, both level on three points, with STATHS holding the advantage on goal difference.

Eltham High sit atop the group with six points and have already confirmed their spot in the final four.

Calabar High, who are fourth in the group, are without a win or a point, and have been eliminated from the Manning Cup.

For STATHS, they are looking for a second consecutive win after defeating Calabar 4-1 in their last outing.

The Phillip Williams-led team will need a win or a draw against Vauxhall to advance.

Williams, however, said it will not be an easy game as they are aware of Vauxhall's quality.

"We have to stay grounded. Vauxhall is a good team and they have been playing well all season," he said.

"So we have to stay grounded and focused, because the game is not complete as yet until after the game."

This will be the third meeting between the teams this season. STATHS took the first game in a hotly contested 2-1 win, while they had drawn the second game 1-1.

Vauxhall, led by Kyle Butler, will be hoping for a positive result this time around.

They were defeated 2-0 by Eltham High in their previous game, and will be hoping they can return to winning form.

The team that advances to the semi-finals will also qualify for the ISSA Champions Cup, while the other team will contest the quarter-finals of the ISSA Walker Cup knockout competition.

In the other game in the group, Eltham will be hoping they can close out the round with a perfect record when they travel to Calabar High.

The St Catherine-based school is on a five-game unbeaten streak and will look to enter the semi-finals with a strong performance at their back.

For Calabar, this meeting will be a game for pride as they have been eliminated from the Manning Cup, and will turn their attention to the quarter-finals of the Walker Cup.
