Woman’s decomposing body found in St Catherine bushes

Police in St Catherine have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s decomposing body in bushes in Hartlands district on Tuesday.

Reports are that about 11:00 a.m., passers-by stumbled upon the body in a section of the community and alerted the police.

Upon arrival, lawmen observed the body, believed to be about 5ft 6in long, lying on its back in an advanced stage of decomposition.

The woman was clad in black tights and a blouse and was barefooted.

The scene was processed and the body removed for official identification and a post-mortem examination.

Investigations are being carried out by the Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch.
