St Ann fisherman found dead on reef line

Police in St Ann are investigating the death of a fisherman whose body was found on a reef line in the parish on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Darran Grant of Roaring River district, St Ann.

Reports are that about 4:31 p.m. on December 18, 2025, Grant's body was seen on a reef line off Dunn's River. Checks by investigators revealed that the fisherman had reportedly gone spear fishing near the reef when he encountered difficulties and drowned.

The body was later retrieved from the water and transported to the St Ann's Bay Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Ocho Rios Criminal Investigation Branch has launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
