UWI postpones graduation ceremonies due to passage Hurricane Melissa
The University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona has postponed its graduation ceremonies scheduled for Thursday through Saturday as Jamaica braces for the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
UWI Registrar Donovan Stanberry said the university is exploring alternative dates and will notify graduands once new arrangements are finalised.
The graduation rehearsal and cocktail reception planned for Wednesday will also be rescheduled.
UWI will also announce when its One-Stop Graduation Centre will reopen.
"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we urge all our graduands to take extra care in securing lives and livelihood at this time," UWI said.
